What is DRDO

Full-Form of DRDO is the Defence Research and Development Organisation.  Headquarter of  DRDO is in New Delhi India and is an agency of the government of India. DRDO's Job is military research and development. DRDO came into existence in 1958 by the merger of the then Technical Development Establishment and the Directorate of the Technical Development and Production of the Indian  Ordnance Factories with Defence Science Organisation. DRDO comes under the direct administrative control of the Ministry Of Defence Government of India. 

                     

    

The Prime focus of DRDO is to develop and provide World-class cutting edge defense technology and made self-reliance in defense and technologies. Equipping by the requirement laid down by the Three Services.  It has more than 50 laboratories engaging in developing defense technologies in various fields like land combat engineering, aeronautics, armaments, missiles, life science, material and naval systems. It has more than 5000 scientists and about 25000 other technical and supporting personnel.
